Sports Options at Bradfield college

With over 30 different sporting activities on offer, the college cultivates a genuine spirit of participation that helps students discover which pursuits they want to continue beyond school. While team sports take center stage—teaching cooperation during challenging moments and fostering positive communication—the program also values the unique perseverance and independence that come from tackling individual sporting challenges.

Core Sports

Core sports each term:

• First term: football (boys), hockey (girls), lacrosse (girls)
• Second term: hockey (boys), netball (girls), lacrosse (girls)
• Third term: athletics, tennis and cricket.

Beyond these, Bradfield college offers elite pursuits including fencing, riding, slalom, shooting, swimming and badminton.

Athletic Facilities at Bradfield college

The college’s sporting infrastructure includes a double-sized sports hall, 25-meter indoor pool, fitness suite, two floodlit astroturf pitches, and a 9-hole golf course with indoor center. Add to this a dozen football pitches and one of southern England’s finest cricket grounds, plus a tennis center featuring three indoor courts, two outdoor hard courts, and six clay courts opened in spring 2017.

Football Infrastructure

Bradfield college maintains some of the country’s most advanced school football facilities across ten grass pitches. The Rectory, home to A-level teams at the campus heart, receives a complete turf replacement each season and features underground drainage plus irrigation systems. The New Ground training pitch similarly benefits from subsurface irrigation across all four fields.
